Vain Sunday 10/30/11

Yay! It's Vain Sunday! I move in two days, and I have to dress up for Halloween tomorrow for work, and surprisingly, I'm more stressed about work tomorrow than moving. Weird, I need to sort out priorities. Make sure you follow me on twitter (@sarahmhawkinson) to see photo updates of my day tomorrow with my coworkers dressed up for Halloween and our competition! For now, enjoy some vain photos of things I've shot in the past week.

This is the dramatic look I did on Sam (YouTube channel HERE) for her 21st birthday. I used a mix of MAC Blackground and Genuine Treasure Paint Pots, and Ardell Wispies Lashes

This is a poster I've gotten questions about before, I got it at an exhibit for Yves Saint Laurent in San Francisco at the De Young Museum.

I've been obsessed with this Windsor necklace lately. So easy to dress it up and down. Here with a chiffon shirt really elegant, and you can also pair it with a plain tee. Love.

My go to look I've been doing involving shades from the Naked palette including Buck, Sidecar, and Toasted.

Tried a new hairstyle this weekend, mainly because my hair was dirty, but I love the wavy ponytail.

And a vain photo of my engagement ring just because it's pretty.

And as always, more places to stalk me:

there ain't no motive for this crime

I’ve been obsessed with The Killers lately, hence the title. And since it is a double negative, this means that there is a motive, this is another inspired piece by a fellow Chictopian.
This band has been getting me through everything now, along with my followers, fans, and subscribers.
Life is hard but without it we would not know adversity or challenge, or the happiest moment when you overcome both.

Estée Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

So this product was sent to me by a lovely subscriber, and man was I thankful! This skin care is not just for old ladies. It's a luxury item for me, and I treasure it.
From the website:
"proven to dramatically reduce the look of uneven skintone from redness, acne marks, dark spots, sun spots, or discolorations. Instantly, redness is reduced and skin looks fresh and radiant. In two weeks, 62% of women showed significant improvement in skintone. Over time, skin looks noticeably clearer and brighter, vibrant, and more even-toned." That's a lot to hold up, but honestly I've seen a difference. I've been using it for about two weeks, but only consistently for one week. I use this in conjunction with the Korres Wild Rose Serum, and my acne scars have lightened a lot.
(This retails for $58 for 1 oz., and $85 for 1.7oz.)

Typical spout, easy to control pump. (Don't mind the gob.)

You can see it's pearlesence in the formula which is why it instantly brightens skin. What I like to do is to keep luminosity in my skin when using a full coverage is use this as a primer. You can also use it alone as a highlight just on the high points of the face.

Blended, you can see here and below the gold flecks within that really highlight the skin, but not in a disco ball kind of way, it's truly magical. Not to mention the smell! I want this smell bottled and sold as perfume, the scent is to die for.

You can buy it HERE on Estée Lauder's website.

Review: Benefit Coralista Blush

Benefit Coralista is a go-to product for me. I actually didn't shell out the $28 retail price to get it, it came in a 500 point perk set along with a sample of Benefit Bad Gal Lash (review coming soon.) Pretty good deal for free!
It's described as a "coral pink sheen." I think this color is flattering on so many skin tones especially light to medium, but works amazing as a coral highlighter for darker skin tones. I like to apply this higher up on the cheek to give a sheen to my cheekbone. It's essentially a two in one product, definitely worth the price. Not to mention it comes with SO much product. It contains 0.28 oz, whereas a MAC blush contains 0.21 oz.

Now, I know these colors look perfect for fall, so it's a good thing we're going into the season, however I wear these polishes every time I paint my nails, no matter the season.
